July 1
-Battles continue at Camp Kacyiru, Kimihurura Circle and Kiyovu
-FAR only responds with mortars, artillery shells and small arms fire
-Increased challenges for the FAR as the reduced military resources took a toll on its military capacity
July 2
-Genocide Prime Minister Jean Kambanda desires a cease-fire, but the RPA rejected it
-RPA’s total victory over the country is only days away
-Fighting continues in Kigali, with the RPA focusing on the various FAR bases, the Village Urugwiro and Mt Kigali
July 3
-RPA applied new tactics of heavy bombardment to capture Camp Kacyiru and Mt Kigali
-Camp Kigali, Kacyiru and Kimihurura are ordered to evacuate during the night
-RPA push into Kiyovu
-FAR begin to abandon Kigali
July 4
-FAR’s Camp Kimihurura, Kacyiru and Mt Kigali are abandoned in Kigali
-RPA’s 21, 59 and Bravo reach the city center
-RPA’s Bravo and 7 CMF follow the retreating FAR
-RPA’s Alpha, 21 and elements of the 59 CMF stay in Kigali to clean out Interahamwe and the remaining FAR
-War in Kigali is over
